ALTERNATIVE VENUES FOR THE GOSPORT WATERFRONT FESTIVAL 2005

COASTAL DEFENCE STRATEGY – SCHEME SELECTION

To consider the public’s response following an exhibition to publicise proposals for future improvements to the Town’s sea defences.

ACTIVE SPORTS UPDATE

To update Members of the achievements of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sports Partnership Active Sports programme 2001 – 2005 and to request financial support for a proposed three year extension of the Programme from 2006 – 2009.

FORTON RECREATION GROUND

To seek Board approval for the use of Developer Contributions to upgrade the existing open space facility at Forton Recreation Ground by providing pathways and pathway lighting, perimeter security railings, planted areas, additional seating, litter and dog bins and additional play equipment to include a combined football and basketball facility and a cable rider unit.

COASTAL CATERING CONCESSIONS

To seek guidance from the Board on the number, type and location of catering concessions the Council wishes to see provided along the coastline of Stokes Bay and Lee-on-the-Solent both on a long term (e.g. 4 years) and short term (if linked to events) basis.

15.

OUT OF HOURS STRAY DOGS SERVICE

PART II

 

 

 

 

With effect from January 2005, Hampshire Police stations will no longer accept stray dogs brought to them by members of the public. Local authorities will, effectively, assume responsibility for stray dogs at all hours.

 

The Council does not currently operate a service outside Town Hall office hours. The purpose of this report is to outline options for such a service and to request funding.
