If you know someone who has made a difference to your life, or has helped with charitable work to improve the lives of others, why not write to the Chief Executive of Gosport Borough Council and nominate them for a 'Citizen of the Year Award'.
We all know of kind-hearted people, those who go the extra mile to help others in times of need or crisis. There are those who drive the elderly or do odd jobs or shopping, or the person who does an incredible amount for charity. Of course we mustn't also forget those who dedicate their spare time to helping young people. Yes, we all know someone with a heart of gold, so why not nominate him or her now?
Gosport Borough Council is also looking for nominations for the 'Young Citizen of the Year'. To qualify for this award the person must be 18 or under and have shown courage in overcoming or coping with a disability or in an act of bravery, or have demonstrated a helping and caring attitude to the disadvantaged. Entries must be in by 31 March of the relevant year, and the winners will receive their award at the Gosport Mayor making Ceremony held at the Thorngate Halls in mid May.
