Responsibilities of the Council's Chief Officers -
(Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and Borough Treasurer, Borough Solicitor, Financial Services Manager, Housing Services Manager, Community and Customer Services Manager) can be found within the Council's Constitution
- The Council's organisation structure comprises the following, total staff employed as at 1st December 2011 being 330.
Chief Executive (Head of the Council's Paid Staff) who directly manages – with the Deputy Chief Executive and Borough Treasurer (who is the Officer with S. 151 financial responsibility) - 40 staff covering Economic Prosperity, Tourism and Culture, Corporate Policy and Community Safety, Personnel, Press and PR, Internal Audit and Information Technology.
There are 4 Chief Officers who report directly to the Chief Executive:
Borough Solicitor (also the Council’s Monitoring Officer) – managing 45 staff in Legal, Electoral
Registration, Democratic Services, Conservation and Design, Development Control, Transport and Traffic, and Building Control.
Financial Services Manager – managing 66 staff involved in Accountancy, Pay, Printing and Graphics, Local Taxation and Council Benefits.
Housing Services Manager – managing 90 staff in Operational Services, Housing Finance, and Housing Options.
Community and Customer Services Manager - managing 89 staff in Environmental Health, Corporate Asset Management, Customer Services, Civics and Streetscene.
