Heritage Property Grants Scheme

Scheme overview

Gosport Borough Council has secured funding from Historic England to regenerate the High Street and Stoke Road Conservation Areas. As part of this programme, we are offering a range of property grants to help make the town centre a more attractive and engaging place to live, work, visit and invest.

Grants

Programme A - Project Development and Viability Grants  

Grants to help develop designs, costings and concept viability needed to support bids for the programmes below.

Programme B - Shopfront Improvement Grants  

Grant funding for the sympathetic repair and enhancement of shop fronts. This can include structural repairs and the reinstatement of historic architectural detail. 

Programme C - Repair and Conversion Grants  

Grant funding for the repair and sympathetic conversion of shop buildings that will enable the viable economic re-use of vacant or underused floor space.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from owners and leaseholders holding a minimum unexpired 5 year lease, of shop properties within the Gosport High Street and Stoke Road Conservation Areas, (see map of areas below).

How much can I apply for?

Depending on which programme, you can apply for grants from £500 - £50,000

Why should I apply?

This is an opportunity to improve your shop front, drive more interest in your business and bring vacant or underused floor space into viable economic use.

When can I apply?

The programme opens on 1 April 2021. To register your interest for any of the grants please complete the Expression of Interest Form. We will then contact you to discuss your project and help you through the application process.
